About The Position

The HRIS Administrator (Workday) is responsible for the full-cycle administration, configuration, security, and optimization of the Workday platform. This role serves as the technical subject matter expert, ensuring system integrity, scalable configuration, advanced reporting, and strong data governance across the HR technology ecosystem. This position requires deep, hands-on expertise in Workday backend configuration, advanced reporting, and security administration, along with the ability to partner cross-functionally to support business needs and drive continuous improvement. The role reports to the SVP, Human Resources and works in close partnership with Payroll and Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on Workday administration experience.
  • Deep expertise in: Workday business process configuration Workday Calculated fields Workday reporting (advanced & composite) Workday security administration
  • Experience with Workday releases and tenant management.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and operate as a sole contributor.
  • Strong ability to partner cross-functionally with various corporate functional leaders to support business needs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting production environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Workday certification(s) strongly preferred, such as: Workday HCM Workday Report Writer Workday Security Workday Integrations
  • Experience with: EIB and Core Connectors Workday Studio Prism Analytics Workday Extend
  • Experience in multi-state, multi-entity, and complex business structure environments.
  • Experience supporting Workday implementations or major optimizations.
  • Knowledge of SOX controls and audit support.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary Workday system administrator across Workday modules, including but not limited to, HCM, Time Tracking, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, and Payroll.
  • Configure and maintain business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, notifications, and validations.
  • Lead system optimization efforts to improve automation, data integrity, and user experience.
  • Manage tenant configuration, releases, and feature adoption planning.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and partner with Workday Support as needed.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration workbooks, and change logs.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Workday security framework (role-based and user-based).
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and data privacy requirements.
  • Manage domain security policies, business process security, and segregation of duties.
  • Support internal and external audit requests and maintain security documentation.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • Build complex and composite reports to support HR, Finance, and business leaders.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, performance, and data integrity.
  • Support data extracts, integrations, and downstream reporting needs.
  • Manage and monitor Workday integrations and data connections with external vendors.
  • Partner with IT and vendors on integration design, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of data flows across systems.
  • Proactively identify and remediate integration risks.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and appropriate use of HRIS data.
  • Govern Workday access provisioning, role design, and conduct periodic access audits.
  • Oversee intake and prioritization of Workday reporting and data requests.
  • Promote data governance standards and best practices across stakeholders.
  • Support Workday biannual releases, including impact analysis and testing, and recommend adoption strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Lead testing cycles (unit, regression, UAT).
  • Provide Tier 2/3 production support.
  • Serve as technical advisor to HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT partners.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
  • Provide guidance on best practices and system capabilities.
  • Support training for HR and Payroll power users as needed.
