GENERAL PURPOSE: The HR, Safety & Compliance Coordinator supports the company’s operations, safety programs, and regulatory compliance efforts. This role manages recruiting and onboarding, maintains HR and DOT compliance systems, supports driver safety initiatives, and provides administrative and operational support across the organization. The position partners closely with HR, Safety, Operations, and Leadership to promote a safe, compliant, and engaging work environment while reinforcing company values and accountability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in one or more of the following area
  • Human Resources, recruiting, or onboarding
  • Safety, DOT compliance, or transportation/logistics coordination
  • Administrative or office operations support

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the transportation, logistics, or commercial driving industry strongly preferred.
  • Driver recruiting, DOT compliance, or safety monitoring experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting leadership teams, managing vendors, or coordinating company events preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the employee onboarding process, including pre-employment coordination, new hire documentation, orientation, and initial systems access.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems, employee records, and required HR documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including background checks, drug screens, driver qualification file setup, and system access.
  • Assign, track, and support employee and driver training through the Learning Management System.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with HR policies and applicable federal, state, and DOT regulations.
  • Maintain accurate electronic DOT driver files, including licenses, medical certificates, training records, and required documentation.
  • Review driver Hours of Service logs, identify compliance issues, and provide guidance or escalation as needed.
  • Monitor driver safety data, including dashcam footage, to identify trends and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with Safety, Operations, and Regional Leadership to support coaching, corrective actions, retraining, and incident investigations.
  • Track, submit, and renew required operational and fleet permits; manage expiration schedules and audit readiness.
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to recruiting, safety, compliance, and training for leadership review.
  • Support employer branding, recruiting events, job fairs, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Order, track, and maintain office supplies, uniforms, PPE, and employee recognition materials.
  • Coordinate new hire welcome materials, shipments, and employee recognition programs.
  • Assist with planning and execution of company events, appreciation initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to uniforms, supplies, and services.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and standardization across HR, safety, and administrative functions.
  • Perform additional HR, safety, compliance, or administrative duties as business needs evolve.
