Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Seven plus (7+) years of human resources experience at a medium to large-sized company
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Completion of an academic HR certificate program or professional HR certification (SHRM, HRCI)

  • Advanced knowledge of human resources best practices and core functions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and workplace regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, and worker's compensation
  • Expert knowledge of HRIS administration, business analysis tools, and HR reporting
  • Proven success managing employee relations, resolving issues, and appropriately handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to role model professionalism, maturity, and exceptional customer service skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a track record of managing multiple deadlines; strong oral, written, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Proven interpersonal and business partnering skills at all levels within an organization
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365

Responsibilities

  • Partner with local senior leadership to drive change, deliver top-notch HR support, and exceed employee expectations.
  • Lead and support the HR team—ensuring policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently followed.
  • Manage employee relations, including investigations, terminations, and exit interviews.
  • Ensure the HR team responds promptly and effectively to employee inquiries, handle complex and escalated issues, and provide counseling on benefits, leaves of absence, employee assistance, and other HR policies.
  • Collaborate with recruiters to plan hiring strategies, review resumes, and participate in interviews when needed.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, including training on HR laws, compliance, complaint procedures, and EEOC, sexual harassment, and termination procedures.
  • Support managers with performance improvement strategies, lead new hire onboarding, and oversee HR team development through training, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching.
  • Support safety and health program implementation, ensure OSHA compliance, and manage timely completion of internal and external audits.
