About The Position

Join our HR team as an HR Intern in Worcester or Stellenbosch , where you’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of HR functions while supporting the delivery of efficient and professional HR services. The key purpose of this role is to provide administrative and operational support across various HR functions, while gaining practical exposure to core HR processes and building foundational workplace experience.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in HR Management
  • Recent graduate or candidate requiring practical workplace exposure
  • Basic understanding of Human Resources and business principles
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the HR field

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Prepare, scan, file and organise HR documentation and employee files
  • Support onboarding processes, including preparing new employee documentation and onboarding administration
  • Assist with scheduling and attending 30-60-90 day probation reviews
  • Support offboarding processes, including uploading documentation, preparing exit documentation and updating HR records
  • Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks, including collecting and verifying supporting documentation
  • Respond to basic payroll queries and escalate complex issues where required
  • Assist with drafting and posting job advertisements on internal and external platforms
  • Support candidate sourcing activities and maintain recruitment records
  • Schedule interviews, prepare interview packs and coordinate candidate communication
  • Assist with background checks and reference checking follow-ups
  • Support the preparation of employment contracts and offer documentation
  • Upload training documentation onto the HR system as required
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to employee relations, including documentation preparation
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as required
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures and confidentiality standards
  • Assist with preparation of disciplinary hearing documentation and related administration
  • Schedule and attend disciplinary hearings, grievance meetings and consultations for learning exposure
  • Follow up on outstanding employee relations documentation
  • Support preparation of CCMA bundles, filing and case documentation on the HR Management System
  • Provide general administrative support across HR functions and regions
  • Assist with preparing basic HR reports as required
  • Support any ad hoc responsibilities as required
  • Ensure HR record keeping is maintained in line with POPIA and labour legislation requirements
