About The Position

The Human Resources Summer Intern will support key initiatives across Talent Development and HR Operations, gaining hands-on experience in program coordination, employee engagement, and process improvement. Under the supervision of the Manager, Talent Development Programs, the intern will contribute to high-impact projects that support employee experience, organizational effectiveness, and BGCA’s People-First culture. This role provides exposure to multiple areas of Human Resources, including performance management, onboarding, learning and development, recruitment, and employee engagement. The intern will collaborate with HR team members and cross-functional partners to support planning, implementation, data tracking, and administrative coordination. INTERNSHIP TIMELINE: Must be available from June 2- August 5, 2026 LOCATION: Office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday) COMPENSATION: 17.00/hr What you will be learning: The fundamentals of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and talent development. How HR programs support a people-first culture, organizational effectiveness, and the overall employee experience. Practical experience coordinating Talent Development and employee engagement initiatives, including New Employee Onboarding, mentoring, and Employee Impact Group (EIG) programs. How to support and operationalize performance management processes, including mid-year check-ins and manager/employee communications. Best practices for HR content management and process improvement through inventory and SharePoint audits that improve organization, accessibility, and consistency. Exposure to HR systems, tools, and operational workflows, along with the importance of confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism in Human Resources. What you will be doing: The intern will be supporting the Human Resources team with events, team communications, cultural activities, strategy development, administrative work, analytics, project planning, and other tasks as necessary.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Applicants should demonstrate interest in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and a HR career.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite, Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience using Canva, Chat GPT and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary support for Mid-Year Performance Check-In activities, including tracking completion, preparing resources, and supporting employee and manager communications.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of key Talent Development programs, including logistical and administrative support for at least one New Employee Onboarding (NEO) session and preparation of materials and communications for learning initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of at least one Employee Impact Group (EIG) event or employee engagement initiative.
  • Support Mentoring Program coordination, including participant tracking, communications, and program administration.
  • Conduct an HR resource and inventory audit, reviewing and organizing program materials and identifying opportunities for standardization, updates, and improved accessibility.
  • Provide support for recruitment operations, including resume screening, candidate coordination, and interview scheduling under HR guidance
