About The Position

The HR Generalist is an integral part of MOSI providing support to the amazing, small yet mighty, staff who serve and educate our guests.
MOSI seeks a qualified candidate to be part of all the HR functions of this not-for-profit organization ranging from adopting policies to zeroing in on promoting a unique culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Plan, delegate, and organize tasks to consistently produce results, with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll, or database.
• Experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
• Enjoys being part of a team; pulls own weight

• Preference to SHRM certified

Responsibilities

• Be a resource to employees for HR questions
• Maintain HRIS with accurate and retrievable information
• Promote and endorse a unique MOSI culture
• Assign/conduct regular HR training sessions including harassment and safety
• Manage job postings utilizing a robust applicant tracking system
• Coordinate new employee screening, onboarding, orientation
• Evaluate and update: handbook, job descriptions, performance evaluation format, and policy development using tools available in current HRIS
• Manages volunteer program; coordinates applicants with Managers
