About The Position

A Safe Place is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time HR Generalist to support core human resources operations, with a primary focus on employee onboarding and benefits administration. This role plays a key part in creating a positive, compliant, and people-centered employee experience within a mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, including benefits administration
  • Strong working knowledge of benefits regulations and HR best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion

  • SHRM-CP (SHRM Certified Professional)
  • HRCI certification(s)
  • CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end onboarding for new hires
  • Prepare and process new hire documentation, including offer packets, I-9 verification, system access, and personnel records
  • Conduct new hire orientations and serve as a point of contact during the onboarding process
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant employee files
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave benefits
  • Support open enrollment processes, including employee communication and documentation
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and changes
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors and brokers as needed
  • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Assist with HR audits, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements
  • Provide general HR support to employees and leadership
