Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment by preparing offer letters, ensuring compliance with California pay transparency requirements, and verifying work authorization.
  • Manage onboarding for all US hires, including I-9 verification, E-Verify (if applicable), and completion of all required new hire documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with California employment requirements, including at-will notices, wage theft prevention notices, and required policy acknowledgements.
  • Act as the first point of contact for new hires, delivering a welcoming and well-organized onboarding experience, including orientation and benefits enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, including payroll data, benefits, PTO/sick leave tracking in line with California law, and compliance documentation.
  • Support bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with California wage and hour laws (including overtime, meal/rest breaks, and pay codes).
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding for temporary employees, contractors, and freelancers, ensuring compliance with AB5 classification requirements and company policy.
  • Stay up to date with California labor laws, including leave entitlements, wage/hour requirements, and local city ordinances.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers, supporting employee relations matters and ensuring consistent application of company policies.
  • Partner with the Head of People on visa sponsorship and relocation processes for US-based and international hires.
  • Support DEI initiatives, ensuring practices align with company goals and California best practices.
  • Assist with HR reporting and analytics, including headcount tracking, turnover, and workforce planning.
