About The Position

The HR Generalist, Talent & Onboarding leads full-cycle recruitment and ensures a warm, mission-aligned onboarding experience for all new Vision House employees. This role supports HR operations, culture-building efforts, compliance processes, and annual HR programs. Working closely with the HR Director and hiring managers, this position ensures staffing needs are met while cultivating a welcoming, values-driven employee experience. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, relationship-focused HR professional with experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment for multiple roles simultaneously.
  • Experience using HRIS and ATS systems (Paylocity preferred).
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a mission-driven Christian organization in alignment with Vision House values.
  • General understanding of HR best practices, including employment laws, employee relations, engagement strategies, recruitment, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with employees, supervisors, and external contacts.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be an active follower of Jesus Christ and have the ability to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR, Talent Acquisition, or People Operations (with emphasis on recruitment and onboarding).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in nonprofit, social services, housing, childcare, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Washington State labor laws.
  • Experience supporting HR operational processes (performance reviews, surveys, compliance training).
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or relevant coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for all positions across Vision House, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, and offers.
  • Conduct proactive sourcing and outreach for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify staffing needs, refine job descriptions, and strengthen candidate selection processes.
  • Coach hiring managers on structured interviewing and evaluation best practices.
  • Track and report recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, pipeline data, and turnover indicators; recommend improvements based on hiring trends and data.
  • Represent Vision House at job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach opportunities.
  • Oversee onboarding from offer acceptance through the first 90 days, ensuring a warm, mission-centered experience.
  • Manage new hire documentation, background checks, I-9/E-Verify, system and account setup, and coordination with IT and Facilities.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of compliance-related training.
  • Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, processes, and resources.
  • Support the HR Director with documentation related to employee relations.
  • Assist with updates to HR policies, procedures, and internal HR communications.
  • Partner with the HR Director on employee engagement strategies and recognition programs.
  • Assist with feedback-gathering efforts and follow-up activities related to employee engagement surveys.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in Paylocity, including updates, audits, and basic reporting.
  • Support annual HR programs such as performance reviews, engagement surveys, compensation cycles, and policy rollouts.
  • Contribute to HR operational improvements and retention initiatives.
  • Help support culture-building efforts that reflect Vision House’s mission and values.
  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • Starting Pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour DOE
