About The Position

The Human Resource Coordinator maintains and enhances the hotel’s human resources operations by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. This role supports hotel leadership and associates by ensuring compliance, fostering a positive work environment, and administering HR‑related programs and services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally

Nice To Haves

  • Two‑year degree or higher preferred
  • Knowledge of HR laws, HIPAA, and FMLA preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Prepare employees for assignments by coordinating and conducting new‑hire orientation and training programs
  • Screen and support the selection of potential employees
  • Track and maintain employee training documentation
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence, and employee assistance programs
  • Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain job descriptions and update job requirements for all hotel positions
  • Establish and support employee recognition programs
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment regulations
  • Handle employee relations matters, including counseling and exit interviews
  • Monitor and support employee evaluation programs
  • Nurture and promote a positive working environment
  • Coordinate HR projects, surveys, and meetings
  • Partner with local agencies and support community service initiatives
  • Consult with department leaders to identify staffing needs and preferred qualifications
  • Investigate accidents and prepare reports for insurance carriers
  • Coordinate and support the property Safety Committee
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
