About The Position

The HR Coordinator provides administrative and human resources support across recruitment, employee records administration, compliance tracking, benefits support, leave administration, and general HR operations. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role serves as an entry-level HR generalist position with responsibility for supporting multiple functional areas within the Human Resources department. The HR Coordinator performs operational HR duties requiring sound judgment, confidentiality, and consistent application of established HR policies and procedures. This position supports recruiting activities, onboarding logistics, document management, FMLA tracking, and compliance monitoring while providing responsive service to employees and supervisors. The role is designed as a developmental position for growth into a Human Resources Generalist.

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration with an HR focus, or another related HR field required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct human resources experience supporting recruiting, employee records, leave administration, or HR compliance functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, and candidate communications
  • Screen applications for minimum qualifications in accordance with established guidelines
  • Coordinate interview schedules and hiring logistics
  • Support background checks, employment verifications, and pre-employment requirements
  • Maintain applicant tracking system records and hiring documentation
  • Prepare and process new hire documentation and onboarding materials
  • Coordinate orientation sessions and onboarding logistics
  • Ensure accurate completion of I-9 documentation and required employment forms
  • Maintain employee records and personnel files in compliance with retention requirements
  • Support offboarding processes and separation documentation
  • Maintain confidential employee personnel records
  • Track required compliance documentation (EEO, DOT, certifications, training records)
  • Assist with unemployment claims processing and employment verifications
  • Generate routine HR reports related to staffing, turnover, and hiring metrics
  • Support audit preparation and documentation reviews
  • Assist with tracking FMLA and other leave requests under direction of HR Manager
  • Monitor leave documentation and return-to-work timelines
  • Provide employees with general information regarding benefits and leave processes
  • Coordinate communication between employees and benefits vendors as needed
  • Serve as first point of contact for routine HR inquiries especially via phone or email
  • Provide guidance to employees on HR processes and direct complex issues to HR Manager
  • Assist with preparation of disciplinary documentation or policy communications
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and HR-related events
  • Maintain HR calendars and scheduling as needed
  • Participate in training to expand knowledge of HR laws and best practices
  • Assist in updating HR policies and procedures
  • Support departmental process improvements
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, copying, and data entry.
  • Maintain HR department records, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
  • Assist in preparing HR reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Process and distribute HR-related correspondence and notices.
  • Maintain and order office supplies for the HR department.
