About The Position

The Gladstone Plant is the newest General Mills Manufacturing site, employing 130+ people and producing La Tiara taco shells. We believe La Tiara will serve as another competitive Mexican offering alongside Old El Paso. We’ve seen significant customer demand with this brand, which provides a meaningful opportunity to grow our Mexican Business while also driving competitiveness in the category. The Human Resources Coordinator will be an integral member of the Gladstone HR Team with responsibility for leading plant level payroll and disability processes in conjunction with the applicable center of excellence (COE), managing the logistics of the production recruiting process and supporting various initiatives as needed. This individual will also be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate data within our HR Information System (Workday) and will provide administrative support to the Plant Manager and HR Manager as needed. This position reports directly to the HR Manager and must be willing to flex work hours to meet business requirements as appropriate. Core hours are expected to be from 8am to 4pm, Monday-Friday.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of HR or related experience
  • Experience with managing and protecting confidential information
  • Process oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to problem solve and ability to work with ambiguity
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access), Visio, and SharePoint; with a willingness to learn and master other software programs as needed
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills – ability to prepare and analyzeHR reports, translate data into recommendations and take appropriate action to achieve desired business results

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage tactical and administrative HR processes for the plant
  • Provide day-to-day HR customer service to all plant team members, including researching, resolving issues, answering questions, or escalating to the appropriate COE
  • Support maintenance of personnel files and documentation in compliance with Global Internal Audit standards
  • Support payroll processes and compensation changes including Workbrain and Workday
  • Assist with new hire orientation preparation
  • Serve as plant contact for Leave and Time Off process in partnership with the General Mills Leave and Disability Services Center
  • New hire probationary evaluation support
  • Organize details for meetings/events
  • Coordinate office supply orders, break room, and cleaning supplies
  • Plant uniform management
  • Support coordination of plant events, celebrations
  • Partner and support local programs including (but not limited to), rewards and recognition initiatives, special events
  • Coordinate plant retirement celebrations
  • Support recruiting events
  • Coordinate and support external partner visits
