The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Radiology is seeking a HR Coordinator! The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for effective human resources operations in the Department of Radiology within UI Health Care. As the HR coordinator, this position will be responsible for departmental retention and recruitment strategies, compliance, recognition activities, transaction processing, and timecard management. Provide HR guidance to department leadership, management, and staff. Duties include: Manage recruitment process for faculty, professional and scientific, SEIU, Merit and student staff. Identify recruitment strategies and opportunities; create position descriptions, essential and marginal job function analysis forms, and performance evaluation forms; create and submit required documentation; review resumes; coordinate and participate in interview process; advise committees on recruitment policies and procedures; determine salary offers; perform reference checks. Prepare and submit required appointment documentation; assure compliance with background reviews, credential requirements, certifications, and health screening. Ensure proper licensing, credentialing, re-credentialing, and processing for clinical staff; ensure licensure/credentialing information is primary source verified and maintained. Assist in the development of recruitment strategies; oversee hiring processes/practices including applicant evaluation/selection and employment law/legal issues. Partner with key stakeholders to implement programs designed to recruit, retain, and engage employees. Assist in the development and implementation strategies to improve employee engagement. Serves as liaison between department and Health Care Human Resources regarding benefits and leave programs as related to workers compensation, disability leave, leave of absence requests, FMLA, ADA accommodation requests and other leaves (both medical and non-medical). Advise unit leaders on best practices and respond to inquiries regarding policies/procedures. Assure performance evaluation forms accurately reflect staff responsibilities; assure compliance with deadlines; monitor goals; follow up on performance issues and training requests. Attend regularly occurring update meetings including the UI Health Care Human Resources meetings and ELMS Meetings. Distribute information as directed by supervisor in a timely manner. Build strong business relationships with department leaders and leverage knowledge of key business drivers to advise and ensure best practices. Track performance reviews to assure timely completion. Provide basic 'how to' instructions including guidance regarding policies and practices and direction to resources for further information or documents. May provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved. Consult with supervisors and department HR Director to make recommendations on employee performance and discipline. Assist department HR Director in developing and implementing HR programs. Receive guidance on strategic or complex issues from department HR Director. Assist with planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing short and long range goals as outlined in the strategic plan. Proactively seeks to understand strategic plans and acts as a resource/partner to meet the human resource needs of the Department of Radiology Advise and provide recommendations to department on classification placements/review and new hire salary recommendations Provide guidance and assist department with personnel payroll related inquires. Assure absence report forms and monthly time sheets are obtained and processed in a timely and accurate manner; educate staff on policies and procedures; answer questions and provide guidance to staff, supervisors, and administrators. Adheres to UI Health Care policies regarding personal conduct, including following established leadership, remaining responsive to instruction, and coaching from supervisor and meeting the standards of personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality. Motivates staff to high performance by exercising strong stewardship of university resources. Maintain Faculty and Staff personnel files and as appropriate, a separate medical file on each department staff member. Review and forward personnel file when staff member transfers to a new department. Audit and maintain standard reports to assure completeness and accuracy of information. Maintain Department of Radiology organizational charts. Run and distribute compliance reports; track for timeliness and adherence to the standards of regulatory bodies (i.e., JCAHO, and OSHA as appropriate). Inform employee’s supervisor(s) and department HR Representative of any compliance issues. Perform other duties as assigned.
