HR/Benefits Coordinator Specialized Knowledge: Human Resources software such as MUNIS, Frontline Absence Management, and School Spring/PowerSchool preferred Unified Talent’s Talent Ed Applicant Tracking and Records experience preferred Technology skills including Google Workspace (including Documents, Sheets, Presentations, etc.) and Word and Excel required Ability to analyze processes for automation and initiate improvements Preferred Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience of successful Human Resources or School Business Office work, preferably in a public school system Experience working with various bargaining units, as well as non-union employees Experience resolving complex human resource issues across a range of topics Experience collaborating with the Central Office Administration in support of District staff and initiatives Ability to multi-task a variety of employee issues simultaneously Work with the Central Administration Team and initiate processes that streamline and improve HR tasks Willingness to troubleshoot with various software technical support departments on software questions/issues Other Qualifications: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all school departments High level of confidentiality and sound judgment in decision-making Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment Ability to initiate department improvements and find solutions to problems Ability to think strategically and be inquisitive to find new/better processes Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprints certifications Essential Functions of the job: Post jobs, send contracts, onboard new employees and maintain electronic records via (School Spring/TalentEd Applicant Tracking and Records) On-board new employees into Payroll System Process SAFIS and CORI background checks Maintain employee files both electronically and hard copy Submit insurance enrollments Complete insurance opt-out recording and reporting Oversee annual health and benefits open enrollment Assist with processing verifications of employment Complete all tasks related to retiring and resigning staff (answering questions, informing all department staff, completing termination paperwork, and subsequently ensuring posting for positions are submitted by principals/department directors) Maintain employee accruals (sick, vacation, and personal time) and assist with annual accrual maintenance Oversee and answer questions regarding Frontline Absence Management in concert with Central Administration Communicate with staff and manage paperwork for FMLA leaves Process employee change of status forms (staff leaving, name changes, FTE changes, school transfers, etc.) Respond to employee phone calls and emails regarding benefits, time off accruals, and all human resources related questions Assist Payroll Specialist, as needed Any additional tasks that may be assigned by the Central Administration Employment Terms: Work year of 12 months. Salary commensurate with knowledge and experience: $85,000-$95,000 Salary, benefits, and hours as specified in individual contracts negotiated with the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District.
