About The Position

Notre Dame School of Milwaukee (NDSM) is a dynamic and growing school looking for a mission-driven HR Assistant. It is a crucial role that provides essential administrative support to the Finance Department and the Benefits and Resource Manager. They update, maintain and file personnel records while adhering to confidentiality standards. They are a first-tier point of contact for employee inquiries. Candidates must be a Wisconsin resident and eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree (or active pursuit thereof with a clear timeline toward completion) required.
  • Experience in information systems and business applications such as G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Deliver information in an organized, appropriate and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, working across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • The ability to lift 15 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation for periodic travel among three campuses.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll.
  • Update, help maintain, and ensure accurate information is in the HRIS system.
  • Maintain employee records, ensuring physical and digital records meet Department of Labor and school-specific standards.
  • Serve as a first-tier of contact for employees on HR-related matters.
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding process including background check coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations including supporting annual audit requirements.
  • Stay current on HR requirements, best practices, and resources.
  • Assist with HR administrative tasks, including staff recognitions.
  • Projects as assigned, which may include supporting other teams and its members.
