About The Position

The HR Assistant is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department with administrative functions and serving as the primary point of contact for new hire onboarding. This role manages employee records, ensures compliance with HR policies, and assists with day-to-day HR operations. The HR Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new employees while maintaining accurate and confidential HR documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing excellent support to employees and the HR team.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or HR support role.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment laws is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping ability.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute the onboarding process for all new hires, including preparation of offer letters, new hire paperwork, and orientation scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment documentation requirements (I-9, E-Verify, etc.).
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR-related questions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and personnel files.
  • Support recruitment efforts by scheduling interviews and coordinating candidate communications.
  • Assist with preparation of HR reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times.
  • Assist in tracking training completion, certifications, and performance evaluation deadlines.
  • Support HR initiatives such as employee engagement, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Provide backup support for payroll and benefits administration when required
  • Perform all other duties or tasks as assigned by management to support departmental or company objectives.
