About The Position

PH Group is a fast-growing oilfield logistics and transportation company based in Williston, ND. As we continue to scale our operations across multiple states, we are looking for a Human Resources & Administration Manager to take ownership of our people, processes, and administrative systems. This is not a typical HR role. We are looking for someone who wants to build structure, enforce standards, and take ownership of how our organization operates - not just maintain it. You will own and lead PH Group's HR and administrative functions

Requirements

  • Proven experience in HR with direct ownership of payroll, employee relations, and compliance
  • Ability to handle disciplinary actions, conflict, and sensitive situations professionally
  • Strong organizational and systems-thinking mindset
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and workforce management tools
  • High level of discretion, accountability, and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills across field and office environments
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DOT/FMCSA compliance, DQFs, and drug & alcohol programs
  • Familiarity with OSHA, Veriforce, or ISNetworld
  • Experience in trucking, oilfield services, or other compliance-heavy industries
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Payroll coordination and HR system management (time tracking, HRIS, reporting)
  • Full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
  • Employee lifecycle management, including documentation, discipline, and terminations
  • Benefits administration and employee support
  • Compliance programs including: o Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) o Drug & alcohol testing o OSHA / Veriforce / ISNetworld support (in coordination with Safety)
  • Training coordination and record management
  • Oversight and leadership of administrative staff
  • Ensuring that all systems, documentation, and processes are accurate, consistent, compliant, and audit-ready
  • Build and improve systems-not just follow them
  • Lead disciplinary processes and support difficult decisions
  • Establish structure and accountability across the organization
  • Act as a key partner to leadership in managing workforce challenges
  • Have the authority to escalate or address compliance and personnel risks
