About The Position

The Howick Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience with operating a roll-former in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience moving heavy materials around an active job site or manufacturing shop
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs (blueprints), shop drawings, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience with operating a roll-former in a manufacturing environment
  • The ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all areas involved.
  • The need to be self-motivated to grow personally and professionally through on-going education as a result of the rate of change in the position.

Responsibilities

  • Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include roll-former, grinder, band saw, and similar equipment.
  • Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
  • Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Attends and/or completes welder and safety training (through KLOVER Learning Management System) as required by management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
