About The Position

Role Overview The Housing Training Specialist designs and delivers training programs for housing staff while improving service quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness through cross‑team collaboration and ongoing development.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree (AA) in a related field of study; or equivalent and relevant experience may substitute 1-3 years
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and property management software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing management, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Minimum NCHM Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or NCHM Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) or equivalent industry recognized designation

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in a related field of study; or equivalent and relevant experience may substitute 3-5 years
  • Demonstrated experience working in site-level or regional property management roles.
  • Experience designing structured training programs, delivering training in multiple formats, and supporting change management or system rollouts.
  • Ability to explain complex regulations in clear, practical terms.
  • Certified ARM, CAM and CAPS

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver onboarding, technical, compliance, and customer service training programs for housing staff, ensuring alignment with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago (CCAC) values, resident-first culture, funder requirements and operational standards.
  • Advance departmental goals by improving service quality, compliance adherence, and operational efficiency through targeted training, mentorship, and career development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with vendors and industry partners to source specialized training content and represent CCAC at professional events to promote best practices.
  • Partner with housing staff, People and Culture, and cross-functional teams to assess training needs, develop tailored programs, and share insights for continuous improvement.
  • Engage in ongoing learning, training, and skill development, seeking and applying feedback to continuously improve performance and contribute to team and organizational success.
  • Essential functions include all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day
  • Climb up and down up to 3 flights of stairs at a time
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs
