About The Position

Community Bridges, Inc. (CBI) is an integrated behavioral healthcare agency offering a variety of different programs throughout Arizona. CBI provides residential, outpatient, inpatient, patient-centered medical homes, medication-assisted treatment, and crisis services to individuals experiencing crisis, opioid use disorder, homelessness, and mental illness. CBI is the premiere non-profit fully integrated healthcare provider of substance use and behavioral health programs in Arizona, including prevention, education and treatment using cutting-edge, nationally recognized, evidence-based models. The Housing Specialist is a specialty case management position, responsible for developing a deep understanding of community resources related to securing housing for individuals served in the program. This role involves working in the community to establish relationships with various intervention levels for members, including shelters, recovery homes, housing service providers, and landlords. The Housing Specialist will cultivate friendly relationships with landlords, identify new landlords, explain the program to them, respond to existing landlords' needs, and protect the privacy and rights of individuals served. The Housing Specialist works within a multidisciplinary team and provides ongoing cross-training on housing options.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED required
  • Current AZ Driver's License (valid and in good standing)
  • Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) in accordance with A.A.C. R9-10-101.33 and CBI Clinical Policies and Procedures
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in a field related to behavioral health
  • 1-3 years of experience in behavioral health working in multiple settings and levels of care, including both mental health and substance abuse
  • Lived experience in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders, homelessness, family members and veterans

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of community resources as it relates to securing housing for individuals served in the program
  • Work in the community to establish relationships with the appropriate level of intervention for the members served, including but not limited to shelters, recovery homes, housing service providers, and landlords
  • Cultivate friendly relationships with landlords throughout the area of service
  • Identify new landlords and explain the program to them
  • Be responsive to the needs of existing landlords to ensure they desire to continue to work with the program
  • Protect the privacy and rights of the individual served throughout the process
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide cross training around housing options on an ongoing basis
