About The Position

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Housing Program Compliance Intern. Virginia Housing’s Community Outreach Division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Housing Choice Voucher Team (HCVP) team. This important role will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in compliance, auditing, reporting, and program management within a federally funded housing program. You will work closely with the Housing Choice Voucher Compliance Team to ensure program integrity and operational excellence. Virginia Housing is one of the nation’s premier housing finance agencies. Our mission is to help Virginians attain quality, affordable housing, which we accomplish through our public-private partnerships. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A field of study, academic background, or demonstrated interest in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Social Work, Business Administration, Political Science, Criminal Justice or related study.
  • Some experience working in a professional setting.
  • Interest and passion for working in public service.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data analysis, public policy, or regulatory compliance preferred.
