American GI Forum - National Veterans Outreach Program is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to establish and maintain a comprehensive community service agency with a diversified funding source serving the needs of Veterans, their families, and other individuals of the community who are in need. Our goal is to establish innovative programs of service for the contemporary needs, through an expansion and growth policy that will seek complimentary services that will generate self-sustaining mechanisms for the organization. SUMMARY This person in this position will provide housing services including housing counseling, advocacy and intervention with housing owners, prospecting for affordable, suitable housing for specific SSVF veteran families, and assisting veteran families move into the selected housing. The Housing Coordinator will also participate in addressing immediate needs to stabilize veteran families living in permanent housing but “at-risk” of becoming homeless. The Housing Coordinator will also participate as needed in making presentations, outreach visits, or facilitating other assistance in support of the case management plan set by the Lead Case Manager. The Housing Coordinator will actively collaborate and assist the goals and objectives of the program.
