About The Position

OVERVIEW: The Housekeeping Supervisor assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness. Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments. Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel guestrooms, hallways and landings in accordance with standards. Responsible for conducting daily written inspections of guestrooms. To consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service To lead and supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to ensure service standards are followed, including assisting with daily inspection program and documenting results. To handle Guest concerns and react quickly, logging and notifying the proper areas To actively participate in daily briefing, daily warm up and department meetings to review essential daily information To ensure Room Attendants are informed daily about priorities in their section To follow departmental policies and procedures To report necessary maintenance items To follow all safety and sanitation policies Report all equipment deficiencies to Engineering in a timely manner Follow proper lost & found procedures Other duties as assigned up to and including cleaning guest rooms. Qualifications and Requirements Understanding of AAA Standards Previous leadership experience an asset University/College degree in a related discipline an asset Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Highly responsible & reliable Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times Behaves with integrity, honesty and is open with guests and fellow associates. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form. Ability to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to all aspects of suite. Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations. Position may be required to work varied schedule that may include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to arrive to work on time. Understanding of cleaning a guest room. Proving outstanding geust service, efeecient in guest recovery. Constant standing and walking throughout shift Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps EDUCATION & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum 2 years experience as a room attendant Experience in the hospitality industry preferred Experience in 4 Diamond Rated Hotel preferred Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time Excellent communication skills Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and Holidays. Great knowledge of chemicals Constant standing and walking throughout shift Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling & lifting Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS: Able to communicate effectively in English/Spanish, both verbally and in writing. Able to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
