Maintains a safe, clean and sanitary environment for the community, residents, family, visitors and associates.
Assists in the oversight of the efficient operations of the laundry, housekeeping and janitorial services.
Assigns Housekeepers to specific daily tasks and assignments.
Participates in new associate orientation training as requested.
Orders and maintains an inventory of supplies and equipment used by the Department and within the guidelines of the budget.
Assist in assuring that the community is properly maintained in an orderly, clean and attractive manner and compliant with all relevant safety standards and regulations.
Fills in for the Maintenance Director as needed.
Contribute to marketing efforts through appropriate interactions with prospective residents and guests.
Participates and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
Other duties as assigned.
Manages housekeeping associates under the direction of the Maintenance Director. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with BVSL policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

• 4-5 years of direct supervisory or management experience.
• Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong customer orientation to older adults.
• Positive attitude, enthusiasm and energy.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
