About The Position

The Housekeeping Floor Supervisor is responsible for providing Forbes Five Star service with attention to detail, quality, and consistency. This individual assists in monitoring the performance of Room Attendants, House Attendants, Turndown Attendants, Hostar Attendants and Public Area Attendants. Meets with associates to follow-up on training comprehension, service and departmental changes. Leads by example, works alongside management and staff to motivate them in performing physically demanding work. STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other associates or guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a housekeeping supervisory capacity at a Five Diamond resort.
  • Previous experience in a guest service capacity.
  • Fluency in reading, writing and speaking the English/Spanish language.
  • Advanced computer skills: data entry, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to focus attention on details, follow up, and remain well organized.
  • Track record exhibiting the ability to prioritize projects and assignments.
  • Proven ability to multi task while maintaining a hospitable and professional demeanor.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Track record exhibits the ability to successfully motivate a team.
  • Must be able to execute directions from leadership to attain established goals.
  • Ability to work without direct daily supervision.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce standards of excellence and professionalism within the Housekeeping Department.
  • Prioritize, organize and delegate daily assignments to associates under your supervision.
  • Supervisor and inspect the daily work performance of hourly associates within housekeeping.
  • Monitor quotas and address associates when deficiencies are present.
  • Ensure proper sequence is adhered to in cleaning and stocking guest areas to established standards. This includes guest rooms, public areas, service areas, storerooms, and linen closets.
  • Maintain knowledge of: Hotel services and hours of operation. Property history and features. Guest room layouts, bed types, décor, quality of linens and amenities. Amenities available by guest request or for purchase. Dry cleaning service for guests and hours of operation. Locations of storage areas, linen closets, ice machines, telephones and pathways throughout the property.
  • Provide new hire and on-going training to staff.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints by following established procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure security of guest room access and hotel property, including assigned keys and communication devices.
  • Maintain open interdepartmental communication to promote a seamless guest experience.
  • Submit daily inspection sheets for every associate under your supervision.
  • Follow and enforce lost and found protocols.
  • Advocate safe work practices that promote accident prevention.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals and ensure they are used in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Adhere to health department sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly, reporting maintenance needs to manager.
  • Review the physical status of the property and guest rooms. Report discrepancies to Housekeeping Manager-On-Duty
  • Assist in preparing the guest room for arrivals as needed.
  • Assist in conducting regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Assist with inventories of guest supplies, linens and amenities.
  • Assess, develop and implement appropriate levels of service, procedures and work strategies that will benefit the department functionality and productivity.
  • As occupancy requires, Floor Supervisors may be assigned to the preparation, cleaning and upkeep of Casa Elar, a 10,000 square foot estate.
  • Properly handle and report associate and guest accidents.
  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and pertinent hotel information.
