PURPOSE We are seeking a Housekeeper whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning designated areas assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor by performing the following duties: vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to communicate with clear written and verbal messages
• Ability to present a professional image
• Knowledge of safety equipment usage (e.g. AED, fire extinguishers, etc.), proper cleaning methods, and safety measures essential to the work environment
• Ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes, work with high noise levels, and must have the ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
• TAMU-CC Housing maintains a drug-free workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Previous professional cleaning experience is preferred
• Previous housekeeping experience in residence life or college housing

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the cleanliness of assigned building and rooms.
• Performs the following duties: vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas.
• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
• Restocking custodial supplies.
• Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with students, fellow employees and others.
• Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment.
• Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests.
• Performs other related duties as requested and assigned.
