We are looking for a House Manager to help manage the home and property of our energetic and fun 75-year-old mother. She is an incredibly active and lively woman who enjoys staying busy and engaged in daily activities. Her love for gardening is a central part of her life, and she spends much of her time tending to her beautiful garden, which has become one of her greatest passions. We’re seeking someone with strong organizational skills, who can oversee the upkeep of her home, keep it organized, and manage various household projects. This role will include a mix of tasks such as coordinating with vendors, maintaining the home’s general cleanliness, and assisting with the process of clearing out accumulated items—particularly selling them on platforms like Facebook Marketplace. The ideal candidate will have a love for gardening and will enjoy helping with the upkeep of the extensive garden, ensuring it thrives even when our mother is traveling. A significant part of this role will be managing Facebook Marketplace sales of items, handling potential garage or estate sales, organizing donations, overseeing vendors, handling logistics, and maintaining systems that keep the household running smoothly. We’re looking for someone proactive, trustworthy, and capable of taking initiative to handle tasks and ensure everything is in order. We need a reliable and responsible individual who can effectively communicate with the family, manage multiple long-running projects, and help keep our mother's home and garden well-maintained, while supporting her as she enjoys her hobbies and travels. You are a patient, thoughtful, and proactive individual who takes great pride in seeing tasks through to completion. Your strong organizational skills allow you to stay on top of multiple responsibilities, ensuring that everything from vendor coordination to property management is handled with efficiency and care. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of projects, but you also understand the importance of maintaining clear, consistent communication. Whether it’s providing daily updates to the family or coordinating with multiple parties, you know how to keep everyone in the loop. You have a strong sense of judgment and are highly trustworthy, making you the go-to person for managing household tasks that require confidentiality and discretion, such as overseeing vendor payments or screening buyers for safety on platforms like Facebook Marketplace. You are skilled at navigating both big-picture projects and smaller day-to-day tasks with ease. When needed, you’re capable of working independently and managing tasks with minimal direction, but you’re equally comfortable asking questions and following specific instructions when required to ensure the best outcome. You possess a genuine love for gardening, and you find joy in nurturing plants and maintaining outdoor spaces. You will take pleasure in tending to our mother's expansive garden, ensuring that it thrives during her travels and throughout the year. Gardening is a passion of yours, and you’ll embrace the opportunity to help cultivate this important part of our mother’s life. You have a high emotional intelligence and can navigate family dynamics with sensitivity and care. Whether it's working with family members or managing relationships with external vendors, you excel at creating a positive, collaborative environment. You are comfortable working in a home that values warmth, flexibility, and mutual respect. You’re excited about contributing to a family-oriented environment where your work helps facilitate the flow of daily life. With your energy, enthusiasm, and strong problem-solving abilities, you’re excited to take on larger-scale projects and make steady, measurable progress towards those long-term goals. Your ability to adapt to evolving needs and handle tasks with care will make you an indispensable part of the household.
