About The Position

We are a busy, close-knit family of five with three children (ages 11, 9, and 6), a well-trained French bulldog and two fluffy cats. Both parents are full-time professionals, and with all the kids in different schools and a variety of sports and activities, our days are full and fast-paced. We’re looking for a House Manager and Family Assistant to bring calm, consistency, and support to our lively household. We’re looking for someone warm, steady, and proactive; someone who can serve as a true partner to our family and a “third parent” in the home. You’re dependable, kind, and unflappable, bringing calm and structure to a busy household with lots of moving parts. Most importantly, you’re looking for a long-term role where you can grow with our family, build trust, and become part of our daily rhythm for years to come. Responsibilities

  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, garage, etc.), suggesting new and improved systems as needed
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily (vacuum high-traffic areas, load/unload dishwasher, wipe counters); ensure home is prepped for weekly cleaning services
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding) and manage donation drop-offs/pickups
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Support packing/unpacking for travel or transitions between Edmonds and Cle Elm homes
  • Tackle occasional deep cleans (washing machine, humidifiers, air purifiers, etc.)
  • Assist with after-school and activity pick-ups, drop-offs, and coordination
  • Provide light supervision or backup childcare as necessary
  • Help kids with executive functioning and maintaining clean spaces
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
  • Handle packages, mail sorting, and organization of household paperwork
  • Plan weekly family dinner menus to accommodate family dietary preferences and restrictions (gluten-free household; child with celiac)
  • Prepare and cook 2-3 family-friendly dinners per week
  • Grocery shop for all meal ingredients, maintaining a stocked and organized kitchen
  • Pack school lunches for the kids
  • Monitor refrigerator contents, cleaning out old/spoiled food on a regular basis
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organized after cooking
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
  • Supervise/coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed
  • Manage routine upkeep across main property (Edmonds) and mountain property (Suncadia)
  • Ensure mountain property readiness for family or guest use as needed
  • Oversee property-specific systems (e.g., HVAC, security, pool maintenance)
  • Walk the dog daily
  • Maintain organized stock of pet supplies
  • Refill pet water bowls and monitor basic care needs
  • Optional: Open to occasional pet sitting when family is traveling
  • Stay aware of family calendars and upcoming events, providing reminders for school events, birthday parties, scheduling conflicts, etc.
  • Anticipate needs in advance of upcoming events/trips (packing lists, gifts, travel prep)
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and detailing
  • Keep vehicles fueled, cleaned, and organized
