Typically 3-5 days a week, with flexibility to adjust based on the family's needs, including evenings and weekends About Our Family: We are a lively family of four with two energetic boys, aged 4.5 and 2.5, who attend full-time preschool and daycare, plus a gentle, shy cat who may or may not come out of hiding to say hello. Having relocated from a bustling urban environment to a quieter suburban area, we’re navigating a period of transition in both our personal and professional lives. Both parents hold demanding jobs—one works a hybrid work schedule that also involves overnight travel, while the other works from home. Despite our busy schedules, we place a high value on being present and engaged with our children, and we’re looking for a candidate who aligns with that priority. For the past few years, we’ve been fortunate to have a family member living with us, providing full-time childcare and household support. However, as they transition to a new location, we are now in need of someone reliable, proactive and attentive who can help manage the household while also providing occasional supplemental care for our children. We’re looking for someone who can step into this role with a solution-focused mindset and a genuine passion for creating an organized, harmonious home. As a family, we like to maintain a clean and organized environment that reflects our values, but we also strive to create a warm, relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels supported. We value open communication and believe that honesty, reliability, and a solutions-oriented approach are essential to keeping our home running smoothly. Flexibility is key, as our needs are constantly evolving, especially with an upcoming move. We need someone who will not only help us stay organized during this transition, but who can also adapt to our changing schedules and priorities, particularly as one parent is occasionally traveling. We place emphasis on finding the right fit—someone who will truly become part of the family and who will stick around for the long haul. We’re looking for someone who is trustworthy, dependable, and can seamlessly integrate into our busy family dynamic. Whether it’s managing day-to-day tasks like meal prep, laundry, or keeping the house in order, or providing childcare support during weekends or evenings, we need someone who will consistently go above and beyond and feel personally invested in helping our household run smoothly. If you are someone who loves to create structure and who takes pride in their work, we’d love to meet you. Who We're Looking For We’re seeking a reliable, detail-oriented House Manager who can seamlessly blend household management with childcare support. Our ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and physically capable of keeping up with two young boys. You should be able to recognize what needs to be done before being asked—whether that’s tidying the house, managing the laundry, or ensuring that meals are planned and prepared. We need someone who is organized and willing to take the initiative to manage tasks and household systems. This is a dual-role position, with one foot in household management and the other in childcare and meal prep. You’ll be tasked with keeping the home in order through daily resets, laundry, inventory management, and errands. We’d also love it if you could provide occasional backup childcare during evenings and weekends, and help with family support during transitions, such as travel or special events. Adaptability is key—our family environment is constantly evolving as our boys are growing, and we need someone who can be open to adjusting with us as our needs change. We value open communication and transparency, and we want someone who can handle problem-solving and de-escalation with ease. You should be comfortable working and coexisting in an environment with a remote worker, ensuring that household tasks are coordinated and completed without disturbing the work environment. We’re particularly looking for someone who can help create and maintain sustainable systems that will support the family’s busy lifestyle and who can also step in as needed to provide relief for the parents. Your role will also include occasional travel assistance, particularly to our Vermont house twice a year, and helping us establish better systems as we prepare for a local move this summer.
