About The Position

As a Hotel Operations Intern you shadow and observe daily operations across Housekeeping and Front Office (front desk, valet, concierge, bellstand) departments to understand how each role contributes to the overall guest experience. What You’ll Be Doing May include, but not limited to: Learn the full guest journey, from reservation to departure, including arrival, check-in, and the in-stay experience Observe team members managing the guest service experience, including service recovery, special requests, and VIP experiences. Learn the operational flow of Housekeeping in a full-service hotel, including task management, room readiness, quality inspections, and laundry operations. Partner with department leaders to understand staffing standards, scheduling, and labor management. Participate in team huddles to gain insight into daily communication and service priorities. Develop an understanding of brand standards and service expectations. Observe how departments collaborate to ensure a seamless guest experience across touchpoints. Learn how to monitor satisfaction surveys and guest-review platforms to identify and implement service improvements. Gain exposure to hotel systems and tools that support operations Engage in discussions with hotel leaders about career paths in hospitality and hotel operations leadership Assist with small-scale projects or assignments that support hotel operations understanding At the conclusion of the program, you will develop and present a recommendation to hotel leadership focused on elevating one aspect of the guest experience

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing college/university degree, with preference given to Hospitality Management, Travel/Tourism, or leadership/Management students.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with team members and guests.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays, to fully experience hotel operations.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and work on your feet for long periods (8+ hours) as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.
