About The Position

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the Department. This integral role focuses on maintaining and improving the Housekeeping services and operations of the Hotel. The Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with the Housekeeping Manager by ensuring the Department adheres to STRC standards, policies and procedures. Housekeeping Supervisor II, responsible for training Housekeeping Supervisor I and Room Attendants.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two (2) years' experience in upscale hotel housekeeping or related.
One (1) year's experience in a role leading and coaching others to meet and exceed standards preferred.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational requirements indicated above.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
Obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
Knowledge of hotel housekeeping service techniques and productivity levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and property/lodging management systems.
Proven supervisory problem-solving and critical thinking skills, demonstrating the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Demonstrate ability to identify and prioritize issues, delegating as appropriate, to drive to measurable results.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
Must be willing and able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Lift or carry up to 75 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
Interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
Prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and crawl.

Responsibilities

Assist Housekeeping Manager in leading all Housekeeping operations
Monitor and evaluate all daily departmental activities for assigned team members to ensure successful day-to-day management of operations.
Work collaboratively with other Hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service and quality performance of team members.
Assign and distribute room assignments and work duties
Coordinate scheduling and completion of deep cleaning and related assigned projects.
Ensure timely and efficient execution of guest room turnover as defined by service standards.
Inspect rooms to ensure cleanliness standards and inspect all VIP guest Suites
Inspect all vacant clean rooms and release in system as ready for occupancy
Inspect House runner sections and landing closets daily and provide scores.
Monitor report status and discrepancy of rooms
Ensure inventory PAR levels are adequate for volume.
Track and review IVR requests
Track and review guest comments, and make adjustments to process as needed
Attend pre-con meetings for arriving groups.
Facilitate the resolution of guest relations issues.
Assist the Housekeeping manager with timely performance reviews and maintain scorecards.
Maintain up to date on health and safety policies and procedures and ensure all team members consistently meet standards of safety, cleanliness and maintenance throughout Department, including ensuring all required certifications remain current
Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, confirming complete training for team members, and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with federal, state, local, and enterprise regulations.
Ensure essential equipment, parts, and chemicals are on hand for team members, are properly identified and labeled according to SDS, and are in safe and proper working condition while being utilized before projects begin (i.e. hard hats, back braces, safety glasses, etc.).
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

In addition to the other duties described herein, each team members has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
Employment is contingent on receiving and maintaining adequate licensing, including any required gaming license.
Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino.
Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Casino.
Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not encouraged or permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco products.
Refer to the Internal Control System and Policy Manuals for guidance.
Take the appropriate steps to report exceptions, fraud, acts of wrongdoing, and potential violations of regulations or internal controls to the appropriate levels of management.
Uphold high standards of ethical behavior and uphold a high level of confidentiality.
Demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of problem gambling and have knowledge of the Casino's programs to address problem gambling.
