About The Position

The James American Brasserie is tactically seeking personable hosts! If so, keep on reading!! Here at The James, we are resetting the bar for what is expected of food, beverage, service and hospitality on Long Island. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Engage with guests and colleagues in a professional manner. Uphold service standards to ensure a memorable guest experience Maintain a positive, cheerful demeanor in a fast paced environment Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment. Develop relationships with guests in order to provide personalized service and repeat visits. Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure we are meeting our high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction. Have a positive and professional attitude at all times. Perform job-related activities as required or assigned by a manager.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of host experience in a Long island or New York City fine dining restaurant
• Strong knowledge of ood and beverage with a sincere interest in the hospitality industry.
• Great communication skills, professional demeanor and appearance.
• Able to work in a team environment and welcome feedback and direction.
• Capable of standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, and carry multiple objects

Nice To Haves

• Experience with OpenTable a plus
