The Big Sky Resort Hospitality Management Internship is a hands-on, Manager-in-Training experience designed for students who want real responsibility, real mentorship, and a clear pathway into hotel management — all while living and working in one of Montana’s most iconic mountain destinations. This immersive program is tailored for undergraduate and recent graduate students who are eager to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world hotel operations. Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality, Recreation, Tourism, or a related field
Strong interest in building a long-term career in hotel or resort management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Ability to commit to the full duration and requirements of the internship program

Responsibilities

Participate in day-to-day operations across assigned hotel departments
Spend 3.5 weeks as a Front Desk Associate at one of Big Sky Resort’s premier hotels: Huntley Lodge (3-star) Summit Hotel (4-star) Village Center Hotel (4-star)
Complete 6 weeks of rotational experience in one or two specialized departments of your choice (3 weeks per department), such as: At Your Service
Concierge
Bell Staff
Housekeeping
Shadow an Assistant General Manager or hotel leader for 3.5 weeks, gaining firsthand exposure to leadership decision-making and hotel management responsibilities
Complete a capstone project that reflects your learning, insights, and professional growth throughout the internship
