About The Position

The Hospitality Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional experience for all Guests while upholding the hospitality standards and core values of the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass. This position leads by example to cultivate a culture focused on creating memorable moments for both Guests and Team Members. The Hospitality Coordinator is the point person for hospitality-related inquiries and situations. Additionally, the role works closely with leadership across various departments to maintain consistent procedures that support seamless Guest experience. This role is responsible for ensuring that every Guest interaction reflects the highest standards of hospitality.

Requirements

  • Experience in the hospitality industry or attractions industry
  • Ability to left 50 pounds, use manual dexterity and work in confined space.
  • High regard for the Guest experience and proven Guest service skills
  • Professional appearance.
  • Comfortable working with a diverse population.
  • Teamwork focused, self-driven with Team player attitude.
  • Strong initiative, triage and decision-making ability
  • Ability to stand and walk for at least eight hours.
  • Knowledge of Seattle and surrounding area.
  • Ability to professionally address difficult situations and large groups.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with the English language both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate level computer experience with Microsoft Office, mobile device technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings.
  • Ability to become CPR and First Aid certified.
  • Ability to react quickly and correctly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Flow Management: Efficiently coordinate the flow of Guests throughout the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass, ensuring smooth entry, transitions, and movement between key areas, including areas that offer food and beverage: the Bar at Chihuly, Art Plaza, Arbor, the Loupe Lounge, Revolving Bar and Tip Top Café.
  • Conversion into dining areas: Drive Guest engagement to encourage conversion into the area that offer food and beverage, ensuring that Guests are aware of available dining options.
  • Crowd Control: Implement effective crowd management strategies to prevent congestion and ensure the safety and comfort of all Guests. Monitor high-traffic areas and assist with directing Guests to designated spaces.
  • Guest Service Excellence: Provide exceptional Guest service at every point of interaction, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring that every Guest feels valued and well taken care of. A genuine desire to help others and create a memorable experience.
  • Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with on-site departments, including the Events Team to ensure a seamless experience for all Guests. Ability to speak clearly, calmly, and politely to a diverse group of Guests.
  • Problem Resolution: Address any Guest issues or concerns quickly and professionally, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and a positive experience.
  • Logistical Support: Oversee the set-up and maintenance of Guest-facing areas, ensuring that they remain clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass.
  • Monitor Guest Experience: Continuously assess Guest experience and service quality, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting enhancements to ensure all Guests have a memorable visit.
  • Knowledge of Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass emergency and fire/life/safety procedures and the role in its implementation.
  • Maintain the highest level of professional appearance and demeanor at all times in accordance with Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass standards: Excellence, quality, service, consistency, accountability and performance
  • Flexibility to work additional hours in response to business demands including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Remain aware of all local events for Guest communication and operational impact.
