About The Position

At Vitalant, the Hospital Distribution Technician plays a vital role in supporting the organization's life-saving mission. This non-profit organization provides vital clinical services, products, and scientific research to communities nationwide. The technician is responsible for managing the inventory of blood and blood products, facilitating their packaging and shipment to local hospitals and patients. Vitalant is committed to training, mentoring, and supporting the growth of individuals, whether they are new to their career or the blood banking industry. Vitalant is one of the nation's largest nonprofit blood and biotherapies healthcare organizations, serving over 900 hospitals across the U.S. and hosting approximately 60,000 blood drives annually.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
Valid in-state driver's license
Six months of customer service experience required
Able to lift 40lbs

Nice To Haves

Prior healthcare industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

Receive, prepare, and ship routing, ASAP and STAT orders of blood and blood products, conducting a visual inspection of each product prior to shipment to ensure order accuracy.
Professionally and safely deliver products to Vitalant customers in company vehicle.
Communicate with customers regarding order fulfilment, turnaround times, and product availability.
Maintain accurate hospital service records for transactions and process fees.
Monitor all storage requirements, service equipment and vehicle work areas.
