Under the supervision of a supervisor or manager, the Distribution Technician performs a variety of indirect patient care activities. This includes delivery/pick up of mobile equipment from various departments/clinics; Ensures all necessary instruments and supplies are prepared and ready for assembly on case carts; Observes strict patient confidentiality following all HIPAA rules and regulations. The Distribution Technician maintains a clean and safe environment and observes infection control practices. The role functions under the direction of a supervisor/manager to provide indirect patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure, following OSHA and TJC guidelines. Job duties may include the access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies. Depending on the area assigned, technicians are expected to rotate shifts including weekends and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific manager. Schedules and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or in the best interest of the work unit. The position serves all age-specific groups.
