About The Position

DaVita is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide life-giving care in a hospital setting to patients dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. The role involves delivering empathetic and compassionate care, aligning with DaVita's mission to be the Provider, Partner, and Employer of Choice. This position requires prior dialysis experience and may involve training at various facilities and floating to different locations. The nurse will be an integral part of a supportive interdisciplinary team, delivering care to patients with multiple co-morbidities, overseeing patients with the support of PCTs, and specializing in multiple renal therapies including Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and Apheresis within a dynamic hospital environment (ICU, CCU, ED, and more). DaVita's Inpatient Dialysis Program is Joint Commission Accredited. Requirements

  • Dialysis experience is required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N); three-year diploma from accredited diploma program may be substituted for nursing degree
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment color blind test, accommodation may be provided
  • Flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday

Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to patients who are often dealing with multiple co-morbidities which require unique treatment plans and the ability to leverage a broad range of nursing skills and knowledge
  • Oversee a group of patients with the support of PCTs to conduct patient observations, measuring stats and machine set up
  • Work with head, heart and hands each day in a fast paced environment
  • Provide specialty nephrology care through Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Apheresis
  • Deliver dialysis to patients at a contracted healthcare system, and become an integral part of both the hospital and DaVita team
  • Provide specialty nephrology care within a variety of settings (ICU, CCU, ED and more)
  • Provide lifesaving care during regularly scheduled and on-call shifts
  • Commit to improving patient health through clinical goal setting and quality improvement initiatives
