About The Position

UW Medicine Operator Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Communications Representative/Telecom Dispatcher/PBX. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or GED Certificate; AND one year of experience as a Telephone Communications Operator, or equivalent.
  • Six months of additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Computer skills, including competent keyboard abilities
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Responsibilities

  • Answer all incoming calls into the main telephone numbers for the medical centers
  • Transfer external and internal calls
  • Provide visitor information and general customer service reception
  • Receive and dispatch all emergency communication calls to include trauma codes, code blue, and other medical emergencies
  • Paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers
  • Monitor and respond to alarms
