About The Position

Residential Home Health and Hospice, a nationally recognized leader in home health and hospice for over 20 years and a Top Workplace for 11 years, is seeking a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator. This role is part of the dynamic team and will serve clients in Lisle, IL, and surrounding areas. Requirements

  • Competence and proficiency in understanding the Hospice Volunteer program
  • Understands the Hospice philosophy
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services
  • Ability to organize and develop volunteer Hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs
  • Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good team building skills
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all volunteer program activities in the organization
  • Develop and run the Hospice Volunteer program under the guidelines of Hospice regulations
  • Recruit, educate, and select volunteers
  • Determine a need for volunteer services with the patient and family/caregiver and entire Hospice team
  • Develop a volunteer orientation/documented checklist program
  • Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Maintain monthly statistics
  • Work with Human Resources on maintaining volunteer personnel files
  • Reevaluate volunteer program as necessary
  • Coordinate support/education meetings
  • Attends interdisciplinary group meetings to update on patient status
  • Provide information to individuals and community groups about Hospice volunteer services
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor
