Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in volunteer coordination, management, or supervision (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team of volunteers.
  • Understanding of and alignment with the hospice philosophy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in maintaining documentation and using basic computer systems.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, training, and placement of hospice volunteers.
  • Match volunteers to appropriate opportunities based on patient/family needs, volunteer skills, and availability.
  • Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition to volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to identify volunteer service needs.
  • Organize and lead volunteer meetings, trainings, and appreciation events.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and satisfaction of the volunteer program and implement improvements as needed.
  • Ensure volunteers understand and align with the hospice philosophy and Mission Hospice’s values.
  • Communicate regularly with the Volunteer Resources Manager to align goals and maintain consistent program quality across the organization.
