Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Social Sciences or related field (or comparable experience)
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in healthcare (hospice preferred)
  • Experience working with volunteer programs
  • Knowledge of hospice philosophy and end‑of‑life care
  • Valid driver’s license and commitment to ethical, compliant practice

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, screen, train and assign hospice and home health volunteers
  • Coordinate volunteer orientation, education and ongoing support
  • Maintain volunteer records, documentation and required reports
  • Assign volunteers based on patient and family needs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Supervise and evaluate volunteers and serve as liaison between volunteers and care teams
  • Ensure compliance with CHAP, Medicare and organizational standards
