About The Position

The City of Rockingham, located 40km south of the Perth CBD, is a rapidly growing local government committed to providing high-quality services, facilities, and events. The City is seeking an experienced Horticultural Team Leader to provide hands-on leadership and technical expertise across parks, streetscapes, and foreshore reserves. This role involves leading horticultural field teams and contractors to ensure high-quality maintenance and construction outcomes, while actively promoting safe work practices and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Horticulture or Certificate IV of Horticulture with substantial relevant experience
  • Current “MR” class driver’s licence
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card)
  • Extensive horticultural knowledge including plant, weed, pest and disease identification
  • Strong experience in supervision of staff and contractors
  • Sound written and interpersonal skills, particularly verbal communication and public relations
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy skills
  • Sound knowledge of safety and health legislation, regulations, policies and practices
  • Knowledge of municipal or commercial parks and gardens maintenance practices
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment or able to work alone under direction
