About The Position

The Stronger Beginnings for Families Home Visitor is a critical member of the organization's prevention and family support programs, providing comprehensive, long-term home-visiting services within a strength-based, family-centered model to high risk expectant parents and families with young children. As a Home Visitor, you will meet regularly with families with young children to provide observations of parent-child interactions, including assessing for effective communication and empathic responses and engaging parents in reflective dialogue on the developing parent-child relationship, as well as partnering with them to establish family and child development goals and support them in expanding their support systems. The Home Visitor also provides parenting support and facilitates parent support groups, assist parents in forming community connections aligned with service goals, including referral and linkage with providers of early intervention, mental health, health care, and other supportive services, and develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with key community providers.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Social Work, Child Development or a closely related field required
  • At least one year of experience working with families with children under the age of 5
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • The ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities
