About The Position

Are you a proven leader with deep expertise in home services and operational management? Do you have a passion for building teams, driving results, and providing exceptional customer service? Joshua Tree Experts , Houston's premier outdoor home service company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Home Services General Manager to lead our local operations. This is a pivotal, full-time leadership role with ultimate responsibility for the success of our Houston location. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of the business-including sales, daily operations, finance, and talent management-to ensure profitability and sustained growth in the premium home services market.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: Extensive, hands-on experience in route-based home services, operational management, or the green industry with a demonstrated track record of managing a P&L and achieving business growth.
  • Operational Leadership: A strong understanding of dispatching, equipment management, and safety protocols. You must be a confident, hands-on leader who can motivate and inspire a field team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Business Acumen: Strong financial, operational, and sales knowledge. The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions to improve route profitability.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with field employees, affluent clients, and senior leadership.
  • Education & Licenses: A High School Diploma or GED is required. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Green Industry Background: While not required, previous experience specifically in landscaping, lawn care, or tree care is a great plus.
  • Industry Certifications: An ISA Certified Arborist designation or state pesticide applicator's license (If you don't have these, it is not a dealbreaker-we hire for leadership and operational excellence first!).

Responsibilities

  • Financial & P&L Management: Full accountability for the location's P&L, including developing, managing, and executing an annual budget. Monitor key financial metrics and implement strategies to increase revenue, improve route density, and control costs.
  • Operations & Logistics: Oversee all day-to-day operations, including scheduling, dispatching, fleet management, and quality control for our outdoor service routes. Serve as an operational leader for your crews, ensuring all jobs are executed safely, on time, on budget, and to our premium quality standards.
  • Talent Management: Lead the local hiring process, from interviewing to onboarding, to build a high-performing and motivated production and sales team. Provide continuous coaching, mentorship, and professional development to all employees. Foster a positive and safe team culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.
  • Sales & Customer Relations: Develop and execute a local sales strategy to grow the business and acquire new clients in high-end neighborhoods. Maintain strong relationships with clients, address customer service issues promptly, and fiercely uphold the Joshua Tree Experts brand reputation.
