About The Position

RD Appliance Service, Corp. is a family owned and operated residential and commercial appliance repair business serving Long Island since 1963. We are are seeking a dispatcher. As a dispatcher you are responsible for coordinating service calls booked by our customer service team and creating efficient routes for technicians. Exemplifying our code of values, you show respect and courtesy to all customers and employees. We set the standards for professionalism and expertise in our industry and strive to provide the highest quality appliance service in our area. We service most brands of residential appliances but primarily focus on high end brands. We have contracts with exclusive residential manufacturers as well as well known commercial customers. The expectations are high for our employees but we go out of our way to provide a positive work culture and an environment that is friendly and upbeat. If you are an experienced dispatcher and are looking to work for an organized, well structured and professional service company this is the place for you. This position is right for you if you have proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Review unassigned jobs and assign them to a technician based on skills and zones
  • Create efficient routes for technicians
  • Reschedule jobs when needed
  • Review scheduled jobs for efficiency
  • Resolve potential scheduling conflicts
  • Schedule and route return part install trips
  • Check on part ETAs to plan ahead for return trips
  • Monitor commercial dispatches
  • Communicate with commercial techs to schedule these jobs
  • Act as backup customer service representative during downtime
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance to fit into technician routes
  • Various other related, less urgent tasks during downtime
