A Provider Liaison collaborates with the Health Information Management Department, mid-level Providers, Community Providers, Employed Providers, and Residents to help mitigate any issues they may have in regard to completing medical records. The Provider Liaison monitors deficiencies within the electronic health record system using a variety of reports generated by the software. The Provider Liaison communicates regularly with Providers and/or their support staff to have chart deficiencies completed in a timely manner and trouble-shoots any issues. Assist Providers with chart completion issues. This position is required to evaluate all deficiencies that a Provider declines to complete and either resends, reassigns, or completes the deficiency depending on the outcome of their investigation of the patient's chart. The Provider Liaison also releases notifications and facilitates administrative holds on Provider privileges for delinquent medical records in accordance with Erlanger Health Bylaws/Rules and Regulations. The Provider Liaison may be required to backfill the following job functions; (EWCH these are part of the daily responsibilities) eHIM chart analysis, transcribed documentation prioritization, scanning, duplicate medical records, answering phones, sorting faxes and mail.
