Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary: Performs advanced health information processing functions to support accurate charge capture, coding workflows, and timely billing. Works assigned HIM and revenue cycle work queues (“buckets”) to review medical record documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to claim submission. Collaborates with providers, coding staff, and clinical departments to resolve documentation and charge-related issues that impact reimbursement and regulatory compliance. Reviews clinical documentation to ensure procedures, diagnoses, and services are supported, appropriately captured, and available for coding. Processes correspondence and documentation requests as they relate to revenue cycle workflows, ensuring information is indexed, scanned, and available within established turnaround times. Maintains accountability for assigned workloads, prioritizing tasks based on billing impact, regulatory requirements, and departmental performance metrics.
