We’re looking for a System Integration Engineer specializing in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments. In this role, you’ll collaborate on the development and execution of automated test solutions that ensure seamless integration of embedded vehicle systems. You’ll focus on Python-driven automation and help advance the robustness and reliability of Rivian’s cutting-edge technologies through hands-on validation, troubleshooting, and system analysis. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Demonstrable experiences in Python scripting for test automation, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experiences in HIL validation and embedded system testing.
  • Hands-on experience with HIL platforms (e.g., dSPACE, NI VeriStand, or comparable tools).
  • Proven skills with version control (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical interfaces across harnesses and work safely with automotive hardware.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) used in modern vehicle systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Collaborative mindset & able to work efficiently with engineers from a variety of technical backgrounds.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into repeatable, scalable automated tests.
  • Design, script, and execute automated test cases in Python for ECU and subsystem verification, regression, and release activities.
  • Support the integration of new software releases, troubleshooting hardware/software interactions on bench and vehicle platforms.
  • Analyze HIL test results, debug failures, and identify root causes using system logs, signal traces, and diagnostic tools.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, tooling, and test infrastructure.
  • Document test strategies, procedures, and lessons learned to support knowledge sharing across teams.
