Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Utilize Matlab and Simulink to develop and integrate the real time control models for Powertrain, Chassis and Vehicle Dynamics.
  • Dspace and Carmaker tool chain to design the HIL bench vehicle dynamics parameterization.
  • Analyze requirements, vehicle components electrical schematics, functional specifications, and FMEA documentation.
  • Utilize software tools including DSPACE Control Desk, Model Desk, and Motion Desk plant models with Hardware-In-the-Loop environment for networked ECUs.
  • Design and Implement Battery Simulation to enable bench testing of High Voltage vehicle level features.
  • Design simulations for Steering, Braking, Propulsion, GPS, Radar and Ultrasonics for HIL testing of Driver Assist features.
  • Utilize Automotive Domain knowledge to develop Novel HIL solutions, simulations, and instrumentation for new vehicle features and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point-of-contact for the test organization for the feature owner, engineering team, and supplier by supporting the test project for assigned features, including integration/definition, scope/coverage, time, communications, and risk.
  • Integrate Vehicle Dynamics Simulation models (CarSim, IPG Carmaker, ASM-VD) with other plant models for development of vehicle level features.
  • Develop solutions for instrumentation and simulation of sensors and actuators related to the functioning of automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
  • Integrate plant models with Hardware-In-the-Loop environment for networked ECUs using software tools such as DSPACE Control Desk, Model Desk, Motion Desk.
  • Design, implement, validate, and document Matlab/Simulink models for interfacing to HIL system hardware and communication networks.
  • Design, build, validate, and document HIL I/O circuits and wiring harnesses to interface HIL simulator to electronic control units and subsystem sensors and actuators.
  • Research and implement new processes, methods and tools to increase the capability, automation, and efficiency of software simulation, build and test initiatives.
  • Develop and negotiate the testing scope and statement of work, as well as support the tradeoff analysis of test requirements and test environment capabilities by defining test scope and instrumentation strategies.
  • Analyze requirements, vehicle components electrical schematics, functional specifications, and FMEA documentation.
  • Design, maintain, and execute test procedures in alignment with test design guidelines and strategy.
  • Test environments, automation, and vehicle variant management requirements, and implement and validate test environments, including automation and vehicle variant management solutions.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle systems and test environment functionality to minimize false positive incident reports.
  • Develop and Integrated real-time controls simulation models for various vehicle domains such as Electrification, Powertrain, Chassis, and Body Controls, Vehicle Dynamics.
  • Develop Novel Hardware in Loop Bench Solutions, Simulation, and Instrumentation for new vehicle features and technology.
