About The Position
The Portage County Engineer is accepting applications from persons interested in the full-time position of Highway Worker II. The selected candidate will operate medium to heavy duty dump trucks and a variety of light and medium motorized equipment to assist with the maintenance, construction and repair of county roads, bridges, and culverts; performs other duties as required. The selected candidate will operate medium-to-heavy dump trucks and a variety of light and medium motorized equipment to assist with the maintenance, construction and repair of county roads, bridges and culverts; performs other duties as required. Minimum qualifications include training and/or work experience which indicates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities, usually one (1) to three (3) years related experience. Qualified candidates must possess a valid State of Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License and must be available to work overtime during emergencies and as needed. Successful applicant must pass a drug screen.
